mIRC is one of the most popular. You can download a 30 day trail at their website. After 30 days you may still use the program without registering but you have to put up with a 30 second nag-screen. here

HydraIRC is a more complicated client that is totally free. It can be found here

SysReset is almost exactly like mIRC and also free. Download it here
