Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is a widespread musculoskeletal pain and fatigue disorder affecting over 5 percent of the population, and for which the exact cause is still unknown. The name fibromyalgia comes from “fibro” meaning fibrous tissue (such as tendons and ligaments), “my” meaning muscles, and “algia” meaning pain. It is a chronic disorder characterized by widespread pain in the muscles, ligaments and tendons – the fibrous tissues in the body. This website is about FMS, how it has changed my life and the struggle to keep my sanity despite having fibromyalgia AND Hepatitis C (just to make things interesting) as well as other medical problems. Attitude is half the battle won over FMS and I often tell myself as well as others that
'I may have fibro but it WON'T have ME!'
